Braid Mission Report

Submitted by: Rebecca Edwards, Co-founder/Co-director Braid Mission

Submitted to: the 174th Diocesan Convention

Braid continues the gospel work of living into the call of beloved community by providing support for vulnerable youth in foster care and kinship care, as well as their families. We do so by inviting, building, and nurturing community in the city of San Francisco and the larger Bay Area that transcends barriers of neighborhood, socio-economic status, race, ethnicity, nationality, and religion. Relationship is not only the call of discipleship and the evidence-based practice that can alter the life outcomes for youth. Our 130 volunteers answer this call on a weekly basis and have borne much fruit for God’s beloved community.

In the past year, Braid received nonprofit status and now operates as a diocesan institution. Learn more at www.braidmission.org or follow @braidmission on Instagram & Facebook.
