Global Companions 2022 Report

Our Baptismal Covent calls us to “seek and serve Christ in all persons, strive for Justice and Peace among all people and respect the dignity of every human being”. The Global Companions Commission (GCC) celebrates and supports individuals, Congregations, and Communities as they engage in mutual ministry and partnerships locally, nationally, and internationally to raise up and empower the marginalized and underserved people of God.
In this third year of the Covid 19 Pandemic we have been connecting by Phone and Email. To date we have made the following four Grants from our Budget of $2,500,00.

1. $500.00 donation to the Global Episcopal Mission Network (GEMN). GEMN exists to equip and encourage our church to participate and be transformed through God’s Mission in cross-cultural and international contexts. To Learn more about GEMN check out the GEMN Website (GEMN.org).
2. $500.00 Sent to Episcopal Relief and Development, for refugee relief in Ukraine.
3. $400.00 for The Committee for South African Solidarity (COSAS) to help support the people and nations of Southern Africa in their struggle for liberation. COSAS also produces the “South African Beacon” and organizes Solidarity Shipments of school supplies to COSAS member schools in South Africa.
4. 400.00 to help support Midwives on Missions of Mercy in Sierra Leon.

The GCC also has a small Custodial fund composed of occasional donations and funds remaining from our last Companion Diocese relationship. This year we donated $400 from this fund to The Bishops Ranch in Memory of Melissa Ridlon our co-Chair who died earlier in the year.
