Spanish Interpretation

The front 2 rows on the front side of Grace Cathedral will be reserved for the Spanish speaking members of Convention. Those seeking Spanish interpretation throughout the Saturday of Convention should check in at the table adjacent to these rows to receive headsets and other useful interpretation tools. Spanish interpretation will be provided by the Rev. Br. Angel Gabriel Roque.

About the Rev. Br. Angel Gabriel Roque

The Rev. Br. Angel Gabriel Roque was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to study Culinary Arts and management. Angel worked in many restaurants in Fort Lauderdale and Miami as a sous-chef, baker, and in other kitchen management positions. Angel worked and served in many capacities in South Florida, as a night shelter program for the homeless, HIV prevention educator, and youth pastor. He also served in Latine ministries and young adult ministries. Angel became a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist, specializing in trauma and opiate addiction and worked in mental health crisis management. He answered a call to serve the church in New Mexico and southwest Texas in January 2021 as the Diocesan Missioner for Youth and Young Adults and Camp Stoney programs director for the Diocese of the Rio Grande. Angel is currently a full-time seminarian at the Episcopal Theological seminary of the Southwest, MDiv class of 2026. Angel is a Life professed Brother of the Brotherhood of St. Gregory an Episcopal community of friars. He was ordained to the transitional deaconate on August 9, 2025!  Angel also serves as a member of the Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music (SCLM) on the commission’s Calendar Subcommittee, and on the Council for Safe Church & Safe Communities of The Episcopal Church. Angel resides in Austin Texas with his dog, Koko.
